Versatile Reef Sump for 60 to 110-Gallon Aquariums with Adjustable Baffles and Dedicated Equipment Sections
The IceCap 24 Reef Sump V2 is a purpose-built acrylic reef sump for aquariums in the 60 to 110-gallon range, designed around the equipment and maintenance requirements of a modern reef system. The 24 x 14 x 16-inch footprint fits standard aquarium cabinets in this size class, and the internal layout divides the sump into clearly defined sections: a bubble-diffusing intake chamber, a filter sock compartment with a built-in 4-inch holder, a skimmer section measuring 11.8 x 13.8 inches, and a return pump section at 4.7 x 13.8 inches.
The IceCap 24 sump V2 improves on the original by removing the freshwater reservoir to save space and adding built-in heater holders for secure mounting. It features dual 1-inch intake drains, with the exterior dimensions, skimmer compartment, and return pump section unchanged from V1—so upgrades require no adjustments to cabinetry or plumbing.
Adjustable baffles allow the water depth in the sump to be set between 5 and 9 inches, letting the operator tune the water level without replumbing. A triple probe holder and four-slot tubing holder organize controller probes, ATO tubes, and dosing lines. The compartment lids reduce noise from incoming water, and the bubble-diffusing intake chamber prevents microbubbles from reaching the return section.
The 4-inch filter sock holder is designed to fit the Klir Di-4 Auto Fleece Filter, though the Klir filter is sold separately and not included.

Ideal For:
- Reef hobbyists building or upgrading a 60 to 110-gallon saltwater system who want a dedicated external sump with clearly defined sections for a skimmer, heaters, return pump, reactors, and probe management
- Reefers who previously ran the IceCap 24 V1 and want the V2 improvements — built-in heater holders, new drains — without having to resize the cabinet opening or replumb the system
- Reef installers and aquarium designers who need a reliable, well-dimensioned sump that adapts to different equipment configurations through adjustable baffles and accommodates controller integration via the dedicated probe and tubing holders
Pro Tips:
-
Set water depth using the adjustable baffles before adding equipment. The 5- to 9-inch adjustable depth range accommodates skimmers and return pumps with different minimum operating water levels. Identify the minimum water depth required by the skimmer you plan to use and set the baffles accordingly before filling the sump for the first time.
-
Use the probe holder for an ATO probe, pH probe, and temperature probe simultaneously. The triple probe holder fits the three probes most commonly used in a monitored reef system. Running all three probes from a single organized holder — rather than relying on suction cups in different sections of the sump — reduces the chance of probe displacement during maintenance and improves the consistency of readings.
