In standard aquarium environments, floating fish waste, organic byproducts, and decaying foods lead to a persistent accumulation of inorganic nitrates and orthophosphates. Rather than utilizing chemical resins, synthetic media blocks, or carbon dosing systems that can destabilize delicate biological lines, the IC-AGS-100PRO harnesses natural photosynthesis. By providing a highly illuminated, oxygen-rich localized growth matrix, it isolates nuisance hair and film algae inside the reactor box rather than over your display coral rockwork.
Operation is self-contained and highly efficient. The included heavy-duty IceCap EVO-1000 utility pump sits submerged next to the scrubber base, lifting raw water straight into the internal spray bar manifold. This water cascades smoothly down an optimized 8.5 by 6-inch laser-roughened growing mesh screen. As the water sheets over the grid, it is blasted from both sides by integrated full-spectrum pink/red grow lights. The growing algae acts like an organic sponge, locking up unwanted dissolved nutrients inside its biomass. Scraping the sheet clean every 1 to 3 weeks permanently removes these bound pollutants from your system loop, reducing your dependency on intensive, time-consuming water changes.
