The IceCap ATO EZ Automatic Top-Off System (SKU: IC-ATOEZ) is an authentic, original factory-spec electronic water level manager distributed by CoralVue to provide fail-safe evaporation replenishment for both marine reef and freshwater aquariums. In closed aquatic environments, water evaporates constantly, leaving behind dissolved salts, minerals, and waste byproducts. In marine setups, this leads to rapid salinity spikes that stress delicate corals and fish, while simultaneously dropping the water line inside the return chamber of your sump, risking pump burnouts. The IC-ATOEZ bypasses manual top-offs by continuously monitoring the water line and automatically pumping fresh reverse osmosis (RO) water back into the system.
Unlike older automatic top-offs that rely on mechanical float valves—which frequently bind up due to calcium deposits, salt creep, or stray snails—the IceCap ATO EZ features zero moving parts. The entire sensory layout is consolidated into a tiny 3/4-inch square magnetic probe block containing three independent optical water sensors. When water levels drop below the bottom node, the device activates the included 5W brushless DC utility pump. Fresh top-off water is delivered until the middle node is satisfied. If the middle node fails to detect the rising water line, the integrated top safety sensor serves as a hardware backup, instantly cutting off power to prevent accidental display tank or sump overflows.
