The IceCap Kalk Mixing Reactor Large (SKU: IC-KM-200) is an authentic, heavy-duty chemical water treatment system distributed by CoralVue to streamline and secure the addition of calcium hydroxide (Kalkwasser) into large-scale marine reef aquariums up to 300 gallons and beyond. Traditional kalkwasser dosing requires hobbyists to manually mix white powder into large top-off reservoirs or reservoirs. This not only consumes substantial space under the cabinet but exposes the solution to room air, where carbon dioxide immediately reacts with the lime water to form a useless calcium carbonate precipitate crust, rapidly reducing its potency. The IceCap KM-200 completely eliminates manual daily mixing by isolating the calcium hydroxide within an airtight, compact structural tower.

At the operational core of the Large Kalk Mixer is its advanced Adjustable Speed Magnetic Stirrer Motor. Standard kalk stirrers use traditional internal water pumps to mix the slurry, which quickly wear down or freeze up as calcium scales form along the impellers. The KM-200 utilizes a completely isolated external motor that drives a heavy-duty internal magnetic stir bar coated in reef-safe polymer. Hooked up to an external timer or controller, the mixer automatically turns on a few times a day to gently agitate the powder bed at the base, creating a highly concentrated, super-saturated fluid layout. When your fresh Auto Top-Off (ATO) pump pushes fresh water into the reactor base, it forces the clear, rich kalk solution out of the top gravity port and down into your sump, providing balanced calcium and alkalinity while maintaining a stable pH level of 8.3 inside your display.
