Reef Octopus BioChurn 10T Commercial Biopellet Reactor

The Reef Octopus BioChurn 10T (SKU: OCT-BC10T) is a heavy-duty, commercial-grade external biological reactor designed to manage severe nutrient export requirements in large systems up to 2,500 gallons. Developed specifically for public aquariums, large research laboratories, fish farms, and hyper-capacity aquaculture facilities, the BC-10T targets elevated nitrate and phosphate concentrations via high-capacity solid carbon dosing. By fluidizing solid biodegradable polymer pellets, the reactor cultivates massive colonies of beneficial probiotic bacteria that consume dissolved inorganic nutrients right out of the water column.

The core innovation of the BioChurn 10T is its specialized, patent-pending Power Churn configuration. In standard large-scale media reactors, suspending several liters of dense polymer media usually requires enormous, power-hungry pumps that subject the plumbing to extreme hydraulic stress. The BC-10T avoids this with an internal churn plate that focuses water into a powerful, spinning cyclone matrix. This cyclonic action delivers uniform media suspension and completely eliminates media clumping or anaerobic dead zones while drawing a highly efficient performance from the Water Blaster 7000 recirculation pump. Outfitted with dual independent plumbing control valves, this industrial-grade tower gives water management professionals complete control over biological filtration and fluidizing performance.

  • Massive Media Capacity: Accommodates up to 10 Liters of biopellet media, providing immense biological surface area for heavy bioload configurations.

  • Pressure-Sealed Integrity: Constructed with heavy-wall union fittings and a thick, gasket-sealed top lid assembly ensuring 100% leak-proof external deployment.
