In massive reef aquariums packed with fast-growing small polyp stony (SPS) corals, mineral uptake can easily exhaust traditional liquid dosing regimens, spiking monthly maintenance costs and destabilizing water parameters. The CalReact 5000D automates mineral replenishment by continuously dissolving ancient crushed coral skeletons inside a highly controlled, acidic environment, adding bio-available calcium, carbonates, magnesium, and essential trace elements directly back into your water column.
The defining breakthrough of the CalReact 5000D is its Dual-Chamber Architecture. Traditional single-chamber reactors discharge an effluent with an extremely low, acidic pH (often between 6.5–6.7) due to the heavy injection of carbon dioxide (CO2). If left unbuffered, this acidic trickle can steadily depress your display tank's overall pH. The 5000D passes this raw acidic effluent through a secondary 8.7-inch media column before it leaves the system. This second stage naturally absorbs residual CO2 and dissolves extra aragonite, neutralizing the solution and boosting output pH to protect your delicate marine livestock.
Propelled by the high-torque, variable-speed VarioS 6 DC recirculation pump, this unit utilizes a specialized pinwheel impeller and a high-purity ceramic shaft. Operating on safe 36V current via a detached digital controller, the pump drives a reverse-flow fluid layout that lifts water upward from the base of the chamber. This steady pressure keeps heavy media beds in uniform suspension, completely avoiding the clumping, cementing, and anaerobic channeling that plagues flat-bottom reactors.
