Live Bacteria Cleaner for Rock, Sand, and Curing
Reef Brite Live Rock Enhance is a cleanup product for saltwater tanks. It is a blend of live microbial spores and the enzymes that come with them. When you add it to your tank, the bacteria go to work eating detritus, slime algae, and other waste trapped inside your rock and sand.
Over time, gunk builds up in the tiny pores of live rock and clogs them. Those pores are where helpful bacteria live and clean your water, so a clogged rock is a weaker filter. Live Rock Enhance breaks down that hidden waste and opens the pores back up, which improves the rock's natural filtering. It also seeds new or bare "base" rock with good bacteria, building a healthy biofilm that crowds out the bad microbes you don't want.
It has a second job too: curing new live rock. Fresh rock has to go through a messy break-in period before it is safe for a tank. Dosing Live Rock Enhance during curing speeds that process up and makes it more complete. The same goes for refreshing tired spots in an established system, like a sump, refugium, or sandbed where detritus collects.

Turn off your UV sterilizer while dosing. Live Rock Enhance is a live culture, and a running UV sterilizer will kill the bacteria before they can work. Leaving it on can badly reduce the product's effectiveness.

Pre-soak for a better hatch rate. Mix your dose into a few ounces of tank water in a separate cup, let it sit 20-30 minutes, and stir every 10 minutes before adding it. This wakes up more of the bacteria.

Keep the water moving and aerated. Pour the mixture into a high-current area and keep good aeration going. The bacteria need oxygen and flow to spread and do their job.

Cure new rock cool and low. When curing live rock, keep the water around 72-73°F and 1.020-1.021 specific gravity. Bacteria get more oxygen in cooler, less salty water, so curing goes faster.
