Live Microplankton Coral Food for Reef Aquariums
Reef Brite Reef Enhance is an all-natural food for reef tanks. It comes as a dry powder full of microbial spores. When you add it to your aquarium, those spores wake up and become living microplankton, tiny food particles that float through the water the way real plankton does on a wild reef.
This drifting food is often called "marine snow." Corals, clams, sponges, feather dusters, gorgonians, and mushroom corals all catch and eat it. It also feeds copepods and other tiny creatures, and helps them breed, which in turn feeds your fish. On top of feeding your tank, the microbes help break down phytoplankton so corals can actually use the plant and mineral matter in their food. Used alongside your regular coral foods, it helps your tank get more out of everything you feed.
Because Reef Enhance is dried, not a liquid culture, the microbes stay dormant and stable until you use them. A liquid culture starts breaking down much faster. Kept in the fridge, the dry powder lasts up to two years.
Key Features:
- Dry powder that becomes live microplankton when added to aquarium water
- Feeds hard and soft corals, corallimorphs, clams, sponges, feather dusters, gorgonians, and filter feeders
- Feeds copepods and other tiny organisms and encourages them to reproduce
- Recreates natural "marine snow" to make tank water more biologically active
- Helps break down phytoplankton so corals can absorb plant and mineral nutrients
- All natural, with no freezing, no drying-out of live plankton, and no preservatives
- Ships dry, so microbes stay stable up to two years when refrigerated
- Includes a measuring scoop; comes in a 2 oz container
Ideal For:
- Reef tanks with corals, clams, and filter feeders that eat tiny suspended food
- Tanks where the owner wants to grow a natural copepod population for fish and corals
- Reef keepers who want to boost the results of the coral foods they already use
Pro Tips:
-
Pre-soak for the best hatch rate. For top results, mix your dose into a few ounces of tank water in a separate cup, let it sit 20-30 minutes, and stir every 10 minutes before pouring it in. This wakes up more of the microbes.
-
Pour it into strong flow. Always add Reef Enhance to a high-current area of the tank. The current spreads the microplankton evenly so it reaches corals all over the aquarium.
-
Refrigerate after opening. Keep the container in a cool, dry place and refrigerate it to protect the dormant microbes. Stored this way, the powder stays good for up to two years.
-
Match the scoop to your tank size. Use one scoop per 25 gallons three times a week. Small 10-15 gallon tanks need only half a scoop, while big tanks can use one teaspoon (about four scoops) per 100 gallons.
